catching up.

February 26, 2010

Yes, it’s been a while! Like the rest of you, life just got a hold of me and wouldn’t let go. All in all, February  has proven to be a busy month. So much so that I’m ready for spring break! Ahh, the benefits of working at a university . . .

To catch you up, here’s some images I took of our Valentine’s meal. (We opted to eat in, with me cooking as a gift to my husband, instead of dealing with the expense of a fancy restaurant and the holiday crowd. Yes, ladies, he did get me a present – a nice one at that – a spa package!)

Fish meuniere (aka, fish with loads of butter), roasted asparagus (a favorite around here) and sauteed squash, zucchini and mushrooms.

abababababababb

Of course, a Valentine’s meal would not be complete without chocolate-covered strawberries!

To top off our Valentine’s weekend, our workplace (a local university) shut down Thursday afternoon and all day Friday because of heavy snowfall. What did this mean for us? No work, and a glorious, snowy 3 1/2 day weekend! Being Texans, we just had to play in the snow – a phenomenon that we rarely see.

What did you do during Valentine’s Day? 🙂

Sounds like a wonderful Valentine’s! Okay, you are the second person I know who has been to the French Room. Is it totally worth it? I’ve never eaten French food in my life.
