So, I was supposed to run tonight. Just a few miles, no more than 3. I did this last Monday after work with no problem. No problem at all! But not tonight.
Why? Because I willingly wimped out. It’s cold and the temperatures are dropping. A snowstorm is in the forecast for the next day or so and I’m ready to hunker down and be warm in my house. Yes, I’ve run in colder, wetter conditions before. Yes, a few miles of running would only take 30 minutes of my time. And yes, I know it isn’t storming yet and the sidewalks are clear, but let’s be honest here. If given the choice to go home after a long day’s work and relax instead of breaking into a sweat, you’d choose the same way, too.
Alas, I have another reason to wimp out and not run. (Yes, yes, I’m totally justifying here.) I got a great workout on Saturday with my running class – ran 11.26 miles. Yesterday? My usual kettlebell workout. An night off exercise is perfectly acceptable.
Ahhh . . .
It’s nice. It’s nice to be inside and warm.
All this wimping out is tiring me. I think I’ll go sit on the couch for a while.
Coming up next? What our grocery bill looks like. Exciting, huh?!
