wedding anniversary trip, part 1.

June 30, 2011

Once upon a time, I married my best friend. We had a wonderful intimate wedding ceremony and a large, fun reception. We were so blessed by our family and friends.

(yup. that is a Sonic cup in my hand.)

It has been an amazing five years since that day on June 24, 2006. The Lord has done great things in our life together, challenged and strengthened us through the highs and lows, taught us to live within (and at times, under) our means, helped us to persevere and showed us the importance of communication and laughter. Through his provision, we’ve been able to have some great anniversaries:

2007

(our meal at a Brazilian steakhouse, preceded by a viewing of “Once” at a local independent movie theater in Plano)

2008

(at the Scat Lounge in downtown Fort Worth; we spent the weekend at the Hilton. and yes, my husband is wearing the exact same outfit as 2007’s anniversary – he likes the shirt!)

2009

(in Seattle, on a sailboat; we visited family up there, then took a side trip by ourselves to the Olympic Peninsula)

2010

(a staycation in our lovely little town)

And here we are, five years later, in the great (less heat-exhausting) city of San Francisco:

(after walking uphill to see Lombard Street)

Three days of eating a lot of food, walking up and down hills and relishing the 60-degree temperatures of the bay area.

To be continued . . .
